What do I need to know to submit a mix to the vocode project?

Why dont you bastards keep all of your mixes up for download? I need my electro bass fix

Bandwidth ain't cheap, and believe me, we run through a lot of it. Our general cycle is to release a new mix every month, and we try to keep one or two of the past months mixes up. All of this depends on the popularity of a particular mix, and demand. If we had unlimited bandwidth, we'd do it. We're currently discussing methods to handle this problem, and we're also in the process of providing the original file name on each of the mix information pages - using these you should be able to find past vocode mixes via p2p programs. you can also stream past mixes using Real Player.

What the hell is and and what do I do with them?

The red MP3 box indicates we have an mp3 version of the mix online available for download. Right Click/Save As and you've got instant kopfnicken. the red RM box signifies a mix is archived in real audio format. You can't download this; clicking on it will launch Real Player and stream the mix. No bitching - if you're web savvy you can still find past versions of Real Player that dont try to take over your PC. For now, its the best solution we've got.

I signed up for your update list and haven't been getting any updates

Check your 'spam' filters on your set ups. many people sign up with Yahoo, Hotmail and other free acounts. Some of these mail providers think the Vocode messages are spam. If you just signed up, hold tight, we send out an update only when we have new music. Usually this happens near the first of every month but sometimes we can't get releases out on time.

Where do I send my complaints?

Constructive criticism is always welcome. but if you're just going to bitch about our encoding, bit-rates or general nonsense, take it elsewhere. Last time I checked, Vocode's been providing free mp3 electro mixes since 2000: as they used to say back in the day "dont look a gift horse in the mouth" :P

Your label and gear links dont work - what's up?

Why dont you release more of "insert favorite style of electro here"? I dont want to hear this "insert most hated style of electro here" crap

We try to provide as much variety in the electro bass arena as possible - if you've been down with vocode since day one, you know we change it up every month. Don't like something this month? Be patient and your electro needs will be fulfilled :)

You guys rock. How can I be down and support?

Well, we're working on getting some vocode gear up on offer to help pay for bandwidth and hosting - soon as we have it up you can snatch some up and be a proud Vocode Supporter :)
